The big summary, we were amazed

Gamescom 2024 kicked off this Tuesday, August 20th, with an Opening Night Live full of great announcements and mouth-watering images. Relive this big launch party with us!

After a State of Play that left the PlayStation community wanting more and a Summer Game Fest that still can’t erase the shadow of E3, the dance of summer conferences continues. This Tuesday, August 20, Geoff Keighley welcomed us in Cologne to host Opening Night Live, the big opening night of the Gamescom2024Despite the pace, this conference was able to showcase some great things. We bet there was something you enjoyed tonight.

Thanks to the long concentration on the solo campaign, the evening began with emphasis Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. However, this is not the only pleasing return from a major license! Fans will indeed be happy about the (final) official announcement Borderlands 4. It is also the fourth part of the name, even if it is not included in the title: Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has once again spread out its mountain of characters. But the big comeback that surprised us all was the announcement of a brand new game mafia.

Visually, we were impressed. Even though it’s out, Black Myth Wukong released its launch trailer for Gamescom to set the bar graphically high. But some games really have nothing to be ashamed of. In particular, we got to see Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, as stylish as ever. From the Capcom site: Monster Hunter World has unveiled a monstrous new trailer.

Horror games were also popular at Gamescom this evening. In addition to Little Nightmares 3, the creators of the license also unveiled their new title: Reproductive. This one promises to follow the same direction, for an experience that is sure to be just as impressive. We also got a preview of Directive 8020, the new Dark Pictures that will delight fans of the formula and could well pique the curiosity of fans of Alien and Dead Space. And as expected, tonight the new entry in the Dying Light license was unveiled with an amazing project.

Several games could surprise us

Even before the show, Gamescom offered us a pretty tantalizing new insight into the game inZOI. The Sims’ great competitor is a great promise of possibilities. After opening the trailer with a cat, another game gave pride of place to cuteness… we are of course talking about Ifinity Nikki, an amazing proposal between role-playing and fashion.

But the game we will remember most among the Nuggets is probably Lost records. The promising game from the Canadian spin-off of Don’t Nod was revealed tonight. You better watch out for Life is Strange 4, because this new title has everything it has to offer thanks to its 90s atmosphere that combines fantasy and a story of friendship.
