Builder and Frostpunk have had a special love affair for years. Now developer 11 Bit Studios would like to thank the owners of Frostpunk 2 once again. Because the fans made a decisive contribution to the new patch 1.1.0.
The update is available on Steam, Epic Games Store and GOG.com and downloads automatically. The highlights look like this:
- Major optimization work for higher performance
- Contracts for building buildings and breaking ice can be canceled.
- Breaking the ice is no longer limited.
- The district outlines are now better differentiated in terms of color and structure.
- In the prologue, the nomads are more visible and ice is no longer broken up using machines.
- There is an option to disable auto-saves or adjust their frequency.
- Camera responds faster to inputs.
- Moving the camera section using the mouse pointer directed to the edge of the screen can be switched on and off.
In a blog post about patch 1.1.0 the developers write: »Your voice has been heard. We’ve been closely following your feedback on social media, Steam reviews and forums, and Reddit and are excited to share a number of improvements that address your concerns directly.«

So far the update has been very well received by Frostpunk 2 players. The 11 Bit Studios blog post has over 1,600 upvotes and in the comments both the performance improvements and the new quality of life features received praise.
However, you can also find them there numerous suggestions for further features and changesfor example with food and the Utopia construction mode. One user also wants diseases in the game that kill your population – of course, if you play Frostpunk 2, there can never be enough challenges!
