Much has been debated about whether performance or resolution in a game should be prioritized. These options are usually offered by the enhanced versions of Xbox One and PS4 in some games. We can prioritize a resolution of 4k or a framerate of 60fps, where in very few cases we will get both. Xbox One X may be the console that offers more offers of this type, but the general rule is that one of the two technical options is sacrificed.
If Phil Spencer said he preferred performance over resolution and it seems he has found a friend in Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the Gran Turismo saga who thinks the same. In some statements that he collects GT Planet, Yamauchi says that a 4K resolution is more than enough and that what he is looking for would be a framerate that would multiply what GT Sport currently offers on PlayStation 4.
«I think that with screen resolution, 4K is enough. Instead of the exaggerated resolution you are talking about, I am more interested in the progress we can make in terms of performance. In terms of frames per second, instead of staying at 60 fps, I'm more interested in increasing it to 120 fps or even 240 fps
If we see the graphic quality of Gran Turismo Sport we are clear that perhaps more resolution would not contribute much, while a smoother performance would favor the simulation that this racing saga is looking for. Will it reach 240 fps Gran Turismo Sport on PlayStation 5?
