The Crew 2: Offline mode comes and soon goes into the first test phase

Crew, Mode, offline, phase, Test

With the shutdown of The Crew, Ubisoft had quite a egg and raised a lot of trouble. The promise of incorporating an offline mode for the successor is apparently redeemed.

The outcry after switching off the The Crew server was great, the game disappeared completely in the sinking without playable alternative. The frustration of the community and even complaints in court ultimately brought Ubisoft to promise an offline mode for the two successors so that the games can still be played after the server is switched off.

This project is now slowly taking on concrete features, at least in the case of the crew 2. In a new video, Ubisoft commented on the project and announced a first play test for offline mode for April 30th. Apparently “selected players can participate due to their configurations and their previous participation in the community”.

Regarding the changes made, it says: “Some functions remain as they are, others are adjusted. For example, certain parts of the multiplayer modes will no longer be available if their offline plays.”

So it is progressing. The aim is to deliver the offline mode for The Crew 2 until the end of the year, followed by The Crew Motorfest at a later date. The question becomes exciting whether Ubisoft will also give other live service games an offline mode in the medium or long term.

The debate about online connections of games and the possible consequences when the server has been switched off had taken up vigorously in the past few months and to several lawsuits, a new one, as well as information in online stores such as Steam, which basically state that when you buy a game you only acquire a usage license, but have no ownership claims for one game.
