In the last few hours, a controversy arose related to Hellboy: The Crooked Man, the new live-action movie starring Hellboy. Apparently, statements from the production company Millenium suggested that the film had used Artificial Intelligence to create monsters and creatures, which angered fans of the franchise.
However, it seems that these controversial words were not referring to the film Hellboy. Director Brian Taylor clarified via your personal Twitter account
“To be clear: Hellboy: The Crooked Man did not use ANY Artificial Intelligence. Both characters – Hellboy and The Crooked Man – were created and filmed in a 100% gloriously practical way, just as the Gods of cinema have always intended , without any CGI enhancement… and they look AMAZING. The comment was referring to another movie, The Offering. Rest assured, our movie didn’t use AI and our gloriously practical Hellboy looks phenomenal. The article was probably written by an AI…”
Taylor has reiterated on several occasions that his film will not use Artificial Intelligence. He assures that it is another production from the same studio that will use this tool to create imaginary creatures. Fortunately, Hellboy will stay true to its traditional approach, with characters designed by humans using makeup and prosthetics.
Although not much information has been revealed about the production, the new installment of Hellboy It promises to be one of this year’s surprises. Although the release date has not yet been officially announced, filming concluded several months ago. The film is expected to hit theaters around the world towards the end of 2024.
