Fallout New Vegas 2? A new game from Obsidian Entertainment? Fans dream of it and it might become a reality, but not yet…
The Fallout license celebrated its 25th anniversary. During its existence, the franchise has made a name for itself in the video game industry. Fans all have their favorite episodes, and one in particular is loved by the community: Fallout New Vegas. Now that Bethesda and Obsidian are among Microsoft’s stable, gamers are hoping for a new installment. And it’s not impossible.
A new fallout from Obsidian? It’s not out of the question
As buggy as it is, Fallout New Vegas has captured the hearts of many fans. So much so that the idea of a sequel or new opus in development at Obsidian sends shudders to a whole section of the community. Studio boss Feargus Urquhart reignited their hopes with a simple statement in the columns of double shocker.
Secure ! If we ever have the opportunity to make another Fallout game, we will. It’s not even a question of whether we want to or not, but whether the opportunity arises. At some point we’re looking at what our next games will be, and I’d be surprised if Fallout isn’t on the list. If we were to do one, it would have to tie into what Bethesda is doing with the franchise and a whole bunch of other things. But personally, I sincerely hope I can make another Fallout game before I take off.
Currently, the studio is very busy with the official launch of Grounded and the arrival of the medieval game Pentiment. Meanwhile, the ambitious RPG Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 are still in development. If there’s a new obsidian opus, it won’t be for a long time. Just like Fallout 5, whose development doesn’t start until The Elder Scrolls 6 is finished. In the meantime, maybe Microsoft will offer an appetizer with a game signed by Obsidian? Only time can tell. Fans can wait whatever happens to the Fallout Amazon Prime series, which is slated for 2023-2024.
