It was by no means certain that there would be an E3 at all in 2021 – GameStar editor-in-chief Heiko Klinge, for example, had already written off the fair after last year’s failure. Now E3 took place, albeit purely digitally, and brought us numerous announcements, trailers and surprises (not all good ones).
But is that enough? Was it really a good fair?

In the GameStar podcast we speak the highest court ruling on E3 2021. And who could judge more high court than the editors-in-chief of GameStar, GamePro and MeinMMO!
Podcast di nosaur Michael Graf speaks with:
- Leya Jankowski of My MMOwho has a heart for strange Nintendo announcements and was able to notice a pleasant wave of co-op.
- Rae Grimm of GamePro, which took a clear announcement from Microsoft’s E3 appearance, but is otherwise little remembered from the console’s point of view.
- Heiko blade, who found Microsoft’s E3 appearance also convincing, but at the same time dangerous, and generally would have wished for more gameplay.

Our conclusion: It was by no means a bad fair – but not one that has to be repeated in this form. We missed too much that actually makes an E3 so special.
