Role-playing game fans are eagerly awaiting the supposed epic The Elder Scrolls VI. This is still a long way off, but in the meantime there are apparently the first executable builds of the game internally.
We already know from Bethesda that the release of The Elder Scrolls VI is still a few years away and won’t happen anytime soon. At least there is now a fresh bit of information that gives a little more hope that things are really moving forward.
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls, Bethesda has now spoken out about the role-playing franchise via social media. This not only takes a look back, but above all also into the future.
“Last but not least: Yes, we are continuing to work on the development of the next chapter – The Elder Scrolls VI,” the post concludes, before confirming that there are now also the first executable builds of the RPG hopeful are quite fun. “Even now, returning to Tamriel and playing early builds continues to fill us with joy, excitement and the promise of adventure,” said the creators of The Elder Scrolls VI.
In short: Even if the game’s release is still years away, it’s at least a little bit of good news for fans of the franchise that things seem to be moving forward. The sequel was originally confirmed at E3 2018, but the development work itself only really gained momentum much later because Bethesda initially focused on the sci-fi epic Starfield.
The Elder Scrolls turned exactly 30 years old today, March 25th. On this day in 1994, The Elder Scrolls: Arena, the first title in the blockbuster franchise, was released. Since then, TES has continued to develop, grow and have a lasting impact on the role-playing genre.
