Bethesda and the Make-A-Wish Foundation have joined forces to launch a charity campaign, offering a chance to create your own character in The Elder Scrolls VI.

Seven years—that’s the unusual anniversary The Elder Scrolls VI will reach this June, marking its announcement at E3 2018.

This means the game is now as old as Skyrim was when its successor was first revealed. Quite a milestone!

At the time, Todd Howard and Bethesda admitted the announcement was premature. Nevertheless, The Elder Scrolls VI is making headlines again, though this time for an unexpected reason.

Bethesda has partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to launch a special character creation campaign, with an auction aimed at raising funds for charity.

Make-A-Wish is a nonprofit organization dedicated to granting wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses, bringing them moments of happiness during their difficult journeys.

Founded in 1980, Make-A-Wish operates in over 50 countries through local branches, with nearly 60 chapters across the United States.

For this charitable cause, Bethesda has organized a special auction, with 100% of the proceeds going to Make-A-Wish.

U.S. residents can participate in the bidding through this [link]. The highest bidder will get the opportunity to work directly with Bethesda’s development team to create a unique NPC for The Elder Scrolls VI.

This character will be fully personalized, designed in collaboration with Bethesda Game Studios’ top professionals.

Currently, the bidding is nearing $4,000a number that will likely rise as more participants join this initiative.

What’s the Current Status of The Elder Scrolls VI?

Despite the lack of updates, Bethesda continues working on the game’s development—playable builds already exist.

However, fans will have to wait a bit longer for the first gameplay trailer. In fact, Skyrim’s former lead designer believes We are won’t be shown until roughly six months before its official release.

The Elder Scrolls VI shares the dubious distinction of being one of the industry’s “never-arriving games,” alongside Silksong and Beyond Good & Evil 2.

That doesn’t mean Bethesda fans will be left without a dose of epic adventure. A long-awaited return is expected to be announced this year: a remake of Oblivion.

Rumors continue to circulate about a remastered version of the fourth installment in The Elder Scrolls saga—a perfect way to fill the gap while Todd Howard’s team completes its biggest project since Starfield.
