I think like all internet gamers, you’ve seen the last preview of Horizon Forbidden West. I’ve been impressive, shimmering, and very encouraging about the quality of this production. I wondered how we got such renderings in this game. How did the Horizon saga start, what did it look like in its early stages of production? Well, Nixian has put together a whole bunch of videos on the subject, and it’s … very interesting!
When we see this video of the development of a prototype starting with elements of Killzone, we realize how much developing a game is a long-term vision. It’s hard to imagine that Horizon Zero Dawn 2011 would be the little gem we knew when it was released on April 28, 2017. Yes, you read that right: The game was released six years after the first test prototype Game! Six years of hard work in which developers, graphic designers, musicians and other screenwriters gave everything to create the universe they wanted to share with the players.
I still remember August 2016 when I was for the first time in my life I had seen a presentation of the game with the developers ! I, who loves dinosaurs, futuristic universes, and also wasn’t very much a fan of the Killzone license (I’m really sorry for those who like it) fell in love with this saga that I wanted to support on this site! Watching developers get out of their comfort zone is an exercise that I love to watch and that opened the eyes of this team at Playstation Studios!
So how can we not count on the release of this Horizon Forbidden West, which is the culmination of thousands (millions?) Hours of work by thousands of developers? And this time around, you don’t have to start from scratch … all the elements are already there to create a game that is deeper, more beautiful and more impressive than ever.
I also wanted to pay tribute to the game’s developers. I’m really excited for Guerrilla that we * finally * recognize their talent after a Killzone series that knows its ups and downs and that their new license, Horizon, has become the standard bearer of the Playstation brand, used by millions of players on the branded all over the world. Well done guerrilla!
