In today’s EA Play Spotlight, the focus is on the gameplay of FIFA 22 and discussed how HyperMotion technology can add more realism to the game.
In a 30-minute speech, FIFA 22 The development team discussed how deeper player intelligence driven by the power of next-generation consoles can help create a higher level of tactical realism.
This means better artificial intelligence, because it can make up to 6 times more decisions per second and allows attackers to better understand the surrounding environment. It also allows them to run smarter in organizing offenses and allows them to react to loose balls faster. The rewritten defensive artificial intelligence also enables the team to maintain shape as players move on and off the court, making it more like a tactical unit.
The team also discussed HyperMotion technology, a machine learning algorithm that writes new animations in real time based on 8.7 million frames of game capture data. These matches were played by 22 professional players in 11 vs. 11 matches, and all players wore Xsens motion capture suits.
Hypermotion technology is only available for PS5, Stadia and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game.
The video stream also introduces some of the improvements made to offense/defense, and how virtual players behave more realistically when handling the ball, scoring, goalkeeping and winning back the ball.
If you miss it, you can give it a watch on it.
FIFA 22 will be released globally on October 1 for PC, PlayStation console, Stadia and Xbox systems.
If you have purchased the ultimate version of the game, you will be able to upgrade your copy of the game from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, or Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S at no additional cost. This offer is not applicable to the standard version of the game.
