As the developers announced earlier this week, the first update for Forza Horizon 5 has finally appeared. The developers promise that this will fix the extremely annoying network problems, among other things – but for many fans of the racing game cracker, the hotfix has a bland aftertaste.

Word has already got around that Forza Horizon 5 has suffered from a few bugs and errors since its release. Even if the technical condition is much better than in Battlefield 2042 or the GTA Trilogy you can read the biggest problems again here:

Some of these have now been fixed, as the official patch notes confirm – even if they are quite short for a 5 GB update. You can also find them on the second page of this article.
The main changes: According to the developers there should be several reasons for Crashes have been fixed. This should especially please the players who have been kicked out of the game regularly and without any error messages – and especially those who have not got beyond the tutorial as a result.
Even the annoying ones Connection problems should have been fixed. The times in which you constantly drove against invisible walls and suddenly couldn’t move because the server connection was lost again are hopefully history.
Even if the community has been waiting eagerly for the hotfix, many players are now presented with a change that they had not hoped for. The wheelspin trick, with which you could steal an infinite number of wheelspins by buying a cheap Willys jeep, has now also been fixed in the course of the update.

At least on Reddit, where many hardcore fans of the game exchange ideas, nothing else is currently being talked about: Many have expected it, but the disappointment prevails – especially with the players who preferred to race instead of going to the casino.

Since many players have collected hundreds of skill points that they can no longer invest sensibly, the search for a successor is now underway. The hottest candidate right now after the end of the Willys flood is the Mazda RX7: With 37,000 credits, this costs only slightly more, but also provides a rare super wheelspin for 11 skill points invested. So the trick hasn’t completely disappeared, it just takes more time.
