Several Siphon Filter games for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 have been listed in Korea. A comeback that is not unrelated to the launch of PS Plus Premium.
It’s not a new game, but at least fans can reconnect with Agent Gabriel Logan. In fact, four Siphon Filter titles will soon be available on PlayStation consoles.
PS Plus Premium: Siphon Filter games are coming to PS5 and PS4
As before any game release or re-release, classification bodies in different countries update their databases. Towards Korea, where the committee in charge of this paperwork recorded Siphon Filter, Siphon Filter 2, Siphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow and Siphon Filter: Dark Mirror on PS5 and PS4
A harmless return? no This should be taken as an obvious sign that they’re being added to PS Plus Premium, the most expensive offering that lets you (re)discover the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP library. The four identified components of the license are expected to be available from June, the launch period of the new PlayStation Plus.
The series will no doubt have made its mark on PlayStation consoles, particularly in the first two installments, and many players wouldn’t mind a REAL comeback for this action/stealth TPS.
And a new game?
Could the siphon filter series return in a whole new installment? Anything is possible, but it would be without its creators. Jeff Ross, ex-Bend Studio who joined the Tomb Raider teams, had refused to think about a new game, the motivation just wasn’t there and he didn’t see how to revive the franchise at all.
I was asked if there was another license we could take on and the only other we had was Siphon Filter. But honestly, I had no idea how to revive the franchise. And that didn’t interest me at all.
