SIE Santa Monica community manager reconfirms a 2022 release of God of War Ragnarök. This sequel to the 2018 episode will end the Norse era on PlayStation 5 and 4.

With the waltz of shifts, no exit is certain to this day. Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League and Forspoken recently found out the hard way and have been pushed back to 2023 and the end of the year, respectively. But what about God of War Ragnarok, one of the most anticipated games of 2022?

So far no delay

To put an end to possibly unfounded rumours, SIE Santa Monica Studio Community Manager has confirmed that God of War Ragnarok will be coming to PS5 and PS4 in 2022, without further information. Good news, although of course we’re not immune to a last-minute change.

What triggered the tweet? Good question, but back in February a user had created a topic on the Reddit forums wondering about a possible delay. Jason Schreier then intervened to say no, the continuation of the adventures of Kratos and Atreus would not be postponed.

As a reminder, the game has already been postponed due to the health issues of Christopher Judge, your favorite bald guy’s voice actor.

God of War Ragnarok: The End of the Norse Age

In this new installment we find Kratos and Atreus who will survey the Nine Kingdoms and confront Ragnarök:

Kratos and Atreus must venture into each of the Nine Realms in search of answers as they prepare for the prophesied battle that will spell the end of the world. Kratos and Atreus venture into the depths of the Nine Realms in search of answers as the Aesir prepare for war.

On their journey they will explore breathtaking mythical landscapes, gather allies in different realms and face terrible enemies, be they monsters or Norse gods. As the threat of Ragnarok grows, Kratos and Atreus must choose between the safety of their family and that of the kingdoms…

In all likelihood, Atreus will come into contact with new characters of his age. This work, which was not developed by Cory Barlog, will also mark the end of the Norse saga, the studio doesn’t want to start a long process or pull the rope too much. Eric Williams, the game director, and his teams believe they can do anything in this part.
