The Glory, a Korean drama available on Netflix, takes a moving approach to the subject of bullying at school.
While Netflix has been at the forefront of the SVOD market, the American actor has seen the competition collapse at full speed in recent years. Amazon Prime Video, but also Apple TV or even Disney + do not want to play the henchmen. Each platform has its own qualities and exclusive content. These weigh heavily on the scales of the consumer, who cannot subscribe to all offers when subscribing. Netflix offers a lot of original content and, unlike its competitors, a lot of Korean dramas. These series from South Korea are becoming increasingly popular in France. We present one of them to you. her name is the glory
The Glory, School Bullying Treated With Justice
We advise you to have a strong heart before you venture out the glory. The drama does not skimp on physical and psychological violence to move the viewer. The series tells the story of Moon Dong-eun. During her school days, she suffered horrific violence from a student gang. As an adult, Moon Dong-eun will devise a plan to get revenge on her executioners. As is so often the case with Korean dramas, the emotions are there. The horrific abuse that Moon Dong-eun endured at a young age is very difficult to watch. The Glory tackles the subject of school bullying in a no-nonsense but very raw way. We switch between present and past (sometimes a bit too much) to better understand the mentality of the main character and his attackers. Tous delivers a masterful performance throughout the 16 episodes of Season 1 the glory
A touching series, but one that requires investment
This is the only point at which the glory is really questionable. The drama wants to be so sober, not inducing any forced twists just to surprise us, that sometimes we wonder why some episodes last 1 hour when they could last 30 minutes. A worry that quickly fades halfway through the season. Most importantly, this choice makes it possible to examine more closely the visible and invisible consequences of bullying in schools. The show also addresses the theme of revenge, without Manichaeism. the glory is a heartbreaking drama not to be missed on Netflix. If you like the series a little lighter, grab Stranger. Both dramas have the same director, Ahn Gil-Ho.
