The killer’s latest target is mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor, though Agent 47 can evade his wrath simply by shooting him in the face

Hear me out – Conor McGregor, yes the Irishman famous for MMA and other stuff will appear in Hitman World of Assassination as the next elusive big target of Agent 47. I bet this bald guy would be scared too if he didn’t have a gun, because a gun would make a lethal rear-naked choke meaningless.

Yes, as Io Interactive announced, McGregor himself will appear in the latest Hitman game, the Grand Fusion, today (June 27-July 29). He is the latest elusive target on Agent 47’s list, codenamed “Saboteur”, which is also the nickname of most unruly elementary school students.

In case you’re wondering, The Disruptor is “a globally acclaimed multimillionaire mixed martial arts fighter who feuds with the CEO of a prominent tech company and becomes a target of public criticism in the process,” and the plot setup sees McGregor preparing to face off against that CEO — a guy named Thiem — in a cage.

The fight takes place on the island of Sgar in Hitman 2 – a pretty good location, if not my favourite in the modern Hitman trilogy (I’d probably go for Miami, because I’m being spartan) – and Tim’s colleagues at the company offer a bounty for McGregor’s capture to prevent their kid from losing face.

Here’s the thing, though, while I’m assuming there’ll be a drive to take out The Disruptor in a way that lets 47 outwit him in hand-to-hand combat, you can certainly shoot him in the head or poison his whiskey like any other target. At least if this crossover happens in a fighting game, you’ll only be able to beat him up with your fists and feet, but hey. Who knows, maybe if you try to connect with Conor with piano wire, he’ll actually get a gun to shoot you with, and that’ll be the big twist.

What we do know is that the update also brings a host of McGregor-themed goodies to the game, including a coin pit in the safe house and a very snazzy fur coat for Agent 47. McGregor also said the following: “The Saboteur’s time has arrived! I had so much fun creating this character and bringing him to life. I can’t wait for players to try and take him down – Agent 47 is in for the biggest fight of his life!”
