After the immense success of the two successful video games from Naughty Dog, The Last of Us is now preparing to conquer other media. As is well known, the US broadcaster HBO, known for hit series such as “Game of Thrones” or “Chernobyl”, has been working together with Naughty Dogs Neil Druckmann on a TV series based on the post-apocalyptic story for some time – and now there are the first moving images.
Today, the broadcaster released a first teaser trailer that shows the post-apocalyptic USA as well as the two main characters, Joel and Ellie. These are played by Pedro Pascal (“Game of Thrones”, “The Mandalorian”) and Bella Ramsey (“Game of Thrones”). Incidentally, the actors Gabriel Luna (“Terminator: Dark Fate”) as Tommy and Anna Torv (“Mindhunter”) as Tess are also represented in the series.
In addition to Neil Druckmann from Naughty Dog, Craig Maizn, the creator of the extremely successful series “Chernobyl”, is also playing a leading role in the Last of Us series. The first season will consist of ten episodes, and a second season has not yet been announced. It is still unclear when exactly “The Last of Us” will start on HBO; Beyond the general indication of 2023, there is no more precise date. In Germany, the series will be shown first on Sky.
