Production on the second season of the HBO series The Last of Us has now started and the most important roles have been cast. HBO and German partner Sky have now confirmed four more new additions to the cast.
In the past few weeks, a number of new additions to the cast of the second season of “The Last of Us” on HBO have already been announced. The most important role, co-protagonist Abby, was initially cast before Dina or Jesse followed, for example. Another well-known actress, Catherine O’Hara, has apparently been cast in a role that has not been officially confirmed – possibly Abby’s mother.
Filming has already started in the meantime, but the end of the line has not yet been reached when it comes to the new additions to the cast. Today HBO and the German broadcast partner Sky announced four more actors for season 2.
First up is Danny Ramirez, who will star in the series sequel as Manny – a loyal soldier whose sunny disposition masks the pain of old wounds and the fear that he’s abandoning his friends when they need him most .
Next in line is Ariela Barer, who will star as young doctor Mel, whose commitment to saving lives is challenged by the realities of war and tribalism.
Tati Gabrielle plays a military medic named Nora who struggles to come to terms with the sins of her past in the series. And last but not least there is Spencer Lord as Owen. This character is described as a gentle soul trapped in the body of a warrior, doomed to fight an enemy he does not know how to hate.
Production on Season 2 of “The Last of Us” is in full swing, but there is no release date yet. It is not expected to be broadcast until 2025 at the earliest, in Germany then again on Sky or WOW.
