The makers of the HBO series adaptation of The Last of Us are extremely busy right now. Actors for the second season are announced almost every day and today it is the role of Dina.
And another addition to the cast of the second season of The Last of Us. As the creators of the series announced, Isabela Merced will take on the role of Dina. The actress has already appeared in a number of Nickelodeon productions and became known, among other things, for the series 100 Things to Do Before High School.
“Dina is warm, brilliant, fierce, funny, moral, dangerous and instantly lovable,” series co-creators and executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann said in a statement following the announcement of Merced’s casting. “You can look forever for an actor who can effortlessly embody all of these things, or you can find Isabela Merced right away. We couldn’t be prouder to have her in our family.”
Dina is one of the main characters in The Last of Us Part II. She is Ellie’s partner and supports her in her search for revenge. Dina was orphaned at a young age and was raised by her older sister Talia. Be fore the events of the game, Dina moved to Jackson, Wyoming and joined the community there. She is voiced by Shannon Woodward in the game and her character model is based on Cascina Caradonna.
The constant announcement of new cast members indicates that filming for the second season will probably begin shortly as confirmed. Just a few days ago, Kaitlyn Dever was confirmed as Abby and Young Mazino as Jesse, who will fight for their lives alongside Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal.
The expectations for the second season are high, after all the first season was a real winner and recently even won eight Emmys. However, it will still be some time before the second season is broadcast. Filming has yet to start and you probably won’t see the second season before 2025.
