The cast of the second season of The Last of Us on HBO and Sky/WOW has once again received a prominent addition. A star known from the sci-fi series “Westworld” takes on the role of Isaac.
The US broadcaster HBO has confirmed another star who will be joining the cast of the hit series The Last of Us based on the games by Naughty Dog. Academy Award-nominated actor Jeffrey Wright will also be on board for the upcoming second season. He will take on the role of Isaac.
In this role, he embodies the quiet, freedom-seeking leader of a large militia who becomes embroiled in an endless war with a surprisingly resourceful enemy. Wright also played the role in the video game The Last of Us: Part II, which famously served as the basis for the second season of the series.
Sci-fi fans in particular will be familiar with Wright, as he played a leading role in the HBO series “Westworld”, which ran for a total of four seasons. The actor, who has won Tony, Emmy, AFI and Golden Globe awards, is also known from “American Fiction”. His most recent appearances were in “Rustin”, “Asteroid City”, “The French Dispatch” and “The Batman”.
Season 2 of The Last of Us will again be written and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommey and Rutina Wesley as Maria. Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny and Catherine O’Hara in a guest role have also been confirmed as new additions to the cast of Season 2.
