We recently learned that the Horizon franchise is set to expand to the big screen. A film is on track and will replace the old series project. This is not the only PlayStation license that has announced a new adaptation, as the excellent Helldivers saga will soon also have the right to its film. If the announcement of the Helldivers film is well received for now, unfortunately this is not the case at all with Horizon. In any case, it is the negative opinions and “haters” that we hear most often on the networks and suppress the few important or positive opinions.

Sony is shoving its license under our noses, the pressure is incredible, the favoritism… A whole series of arguments are put forward on social networks, mostly to remind us how much the franchise costs “Horizon is as bad as its heroine” and that Sony is showing favoritism because of its new CEO, Hermen Hulst, who worked at Guerrilla several years ago. So many arguments that are currently enough to fuel the comments, peppered with a final touch of conspiracy. This group of players is clear: “Horizon is a flop”It is “overrated” And it's Sony that is blurring the boundaries of its success by making a big deal about its franchise.
Yes, the Horizon license is a success and it's not over yet
Surprising reactions knowing that the Horizon license has sold more than 32 million copies since its launch in 2017. At the time of writing, there are currently two main games, Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, each with a DLC, then two spin-offs, Lego Horizon Adventures, freshly released, as well as the VR game Horizon Call of the Mountain. So four games in eight years of existence. We can also mention the recently available remaster, but in the end we'll stick with a relatively conventional exploitation, but one that shows great success. A success that obviously doesn't please everyone. Too bad for them as there are other projects underway. The film does and above all a multiplayer game.
