If you’ve been poking around in the Destiny 2 subreddits for the past few days, you’ve probably noticed what’s been sweeping the community lately. This time around, everyone was thinking about the outcome of the PvP scenario in Who Wants to Be Glimmillionaire.
Of course, it’s a play from the famous game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, in which contestants are presented with a question and four possible answers in the hope that they will figure out the right one. In this newly discovered version of Destiny 2, the community had to look at a bizarre or ambiguous PvP scenario and figure out what the outcome would be.
It all comes from the mind of Reddit user No_Consequence_9647, a longtime Bungie fan who has been invested in the series since the original Destiny. Since their exposure to sci-fi FPS, they’ve made it their main game, and No_Consequence started creating gaming-related YouTube content with another friend they met 16 years ago.
Boosting their creative output during COVID with short gaming-related videos, the skills they acquired were only used with the premiere of Who Wants to be a Glimmillionaire just a few days ago. No_Consequence told us via DM: “I’ve been wanting to make a quiz-type video for my shorts for a while. I had a video the other day that fit perfectly. So I started thinking about how to visualize it [in a way that] will be recognized worldwide. When looking for some different quizzes, WWTBAM popped up and knew it would be. “
Unlike the original show, which is primarily a serious game show aside from the host’s jokes, Who Wants to Be a Glimmillionaire was created with the comedy tone in mind. All the clips used so far show the more interesting aspects of Destiny 2 PvP – the answers available reflect the chaotic nature of the game’s playing field. “I think people take games so seriously these days that fun isn’t even part of the game anymore,” No_Consequence wrote. “Forcing myself to grind and do what they don’t want to do. So it’s my way of showing who I am as a person and should enjoy the game.”
Despite being the game’s content creator and an avid fan of the series, No_Consequence actually doesn’t like the recent changes to the game’s PvP side. “I play everything but I prefer PvP and I’m not a big fan of the latest changes. Especially the aerial precision [changes] – In my opinion, these are a step back. But I understand the changes and wonder where they will go in the future. There are a lot of changes that do benefit the game, so I’ll wait here. ”
When it came to PvE, their views became more positive: “I love dual dungeons, and it’s great to try single player dungeons. The solar changes are crazy too. Seeing all these new builds and possibilities, it’s like void 3.0 is the same as stasis and hopefully arc 3.0 will be the same, very satisfying.”
There are currently only two video series entries on Reddit, and the online community has received them with overwhelming positivity. “I always respond well to most positive feedback. I love hearing people like my stupid videos. I post a few videos on Reddit and every time I’m so thankful they let me know they like it and I When can I really thank everyone, especially those who thanked me by sending medals.”
