Unfortunately, the successor to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was recently postponed to next year, but if you believe a new report, you won’t have to do without Zelda entirely in 2022 either.
The latest rumors surrounding The Legend of Zelda suggest that, far from Breath of the Wild 2, there could still be supplies within the franchise for the Switch this year. Accordingly, two classics from the Wii U era may appear for the current Nintendo platform.
The Wii U was more of a disaster for Nintendo and fell well short of expectations. Due to the rather weak sales figures, the sometimes very good games for the console were often not played to the envisaged extent and t he most important exclusive games are now being given a kind of second life on the popular switch.
The well-connected and well-informed insider Jeff Grubb now states in his podcast that he firmly expects two Zelda classics to come to the switch in 2022. In this case, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD are meant. He brings October 2022 into play as the release period for t he two Wii U classics of the long-standing series on the switch.
Grubb does not name sources for this, but he very often hits the mark with his statements. To substantiate the whole thing in other ways, he works out that Nintendo has released some Zelda game on the switch every year since the platform was created.
After The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 was last postponed to spring 2023, there is still a gap that needs to be filled this year. And that’s where the two HD remasters come in. We will keep you updated on the further developments of this rumor.
