As is well known, Nintendo does not have fun when it comes to its own brands. Gamestop sees it similarly and so a leaker was fired who had published the limited OLED switch for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom in advance.
With The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo has one of the hottest irons of the gaming year 2023 in the fire. We’ve recently been blessed with new gameplay, with producer Eiji Aonuma showing off the new fusion mechanics and giving a first look at the flying islands and their monsters.

As part of the special Zelda presentation, Nintendo also introduced a special edition of the OLED version of the Nintendo Switch. This comes in a special Hyrule design and will appear on April 28, 2023, just a few days before the release of Tears of the Kingdom.
The only disadvantage was that the console had already been leaked in advance. A photo of a Gamestop screen surfaced on Reddit, showing the design clearly. Of course, fans were over the moon with the hype, so Nintendo should be thankful.
As we all know, the Japanese company does not like leaks at all and Gamestop also agrees with this opinion. On April 11, 2023, the employee who had distributed the photo had to take his hat off – Gamestop threw him out on edge.
The Gelackmeierte now told Kotaku that Nintendo even helped him spread the word. He himself didn’t see the leak as that bad, and he also wanted to make life easier for himself and thus better prepare for the pre-orders. Nintendo is also said to have put pressure on Gamestop to be suspended.
So stupid for the young man. On the other hand, it is now no secret that Nintendo is extremely sensitive to its own brands and often takes legal action.
