Around the turn of the year, a rumor was circulating about a limited edition OLED model of the Switch to coincide with the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This now receives new food!
In May, Nintendo wants to cause a sensation with the new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. If you believe a rumor from around the turn of the year, fans can also access a limited edition of the OLED model of the switch. The supposedly leaked pictures and information of his time could not be verified – but now they seem to be substantiated, although an official announcement is still pending.
As part of last week’s Direct conference, Nintendo showed a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Teras of the Kingdom and also officially confirmed the Collector’s Edition of the game. This comes in a steel book and also includes a large poster, an art book and a pin set – and it is precisely this pin set that will be important in the following!
The pin set comes in a special box with a logo printed on it. That same logo hadn’t previously been associated with Zelda, but it was also featured in the limited edition Switch footage leaked a few weeks ago. The symbol is imprinted on the left Joy-Con controller in the area of the green and gold color scheme.
In short: Although Nintendo has not yet announced the limited OLED version of the switch in the Zelda look, the fact that the image leaked at the time shows the same symbol as the now official pin set of the Collector’s Edition makes the leak clear more resilient and likely.
So if you want to buy a switch and describe yourself as a big Zelda fan, you should probably wait for an official announcement of the model and then strike quickly. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released on May 12, 2023.
