The Alien saga will receive a new movie next year. Along with a series that is still in its early stages of development, the horror franchise created by Ridley Scott almost 35 years ago, it is still more relevant than ever. The xenomorphs continue to lurk and will not rest until they finish off the travelers who cross their path.
After several months of work, the director of the new installment of the saga, Fede Alvarezjust confirmed that filming has finished. Through his personal Instagram account, the Uruguayan filmmaker shared a photo of himself smoking, thus announcing the completion of this important phase of production.
The next movie of Alien will feature a cast made up of Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. Although not many details about the plot have been revealed, both the producer and the director have commented that the story will follow a group of young people in a distant world who face a terrifying life form from the universe.
With this description, it sounds like the movie will be set in a timeline before the original movie, but not as far back as in Prometheus y Alien: Covenant. The premiere of the new Alien movie is scheduled for August 16, 2024.
