The release of Modern Warfare 2 hasn’t necessarily gone smoothly. Some players complain about crashes, the gameplay changes are controversial and some content is missing, such as hardcore mode.
But that’s not the only area where many buyers are wondering where the promised content is. Beta players may remember the Valderas Museum map, where early access allowed you to compete against each other. Now MW2 has appeared and the map is untraceable.
Lawsuit against Activision Blizzard Activision Blizzard is currently facing a lawsuit alleging sexism and unequal treatment of female employees. If the grievances play a role in your purchase decision, we have summarized all the information on the sexism lawsuit in a detailed article for you. What happened to the map?
We’ve reached out to Activision as to why Valderas Museum didn’t make it into the release version, but haven’t received an answer yet. So far there is no official statementbut of course we will keep you up to date here.
So the following content is based on speculation and rumours. Of course, it would be possible that the map should receive a few more changes after the beta phase that are simply not finished yet. A similar scenario to the new Gunsmith would be conceivable: the fine tuning has led to regular crashes due to technical defects, which is why the Infinity Ward feature has been taken out of the game for the time being.

The colleagues at Dot Esports but have a different assumption: the map may not have been made available for release due to copyright differences. The architecture of the house is very reminiscent of a real building, the Getty Museum in Los Angeles.
It is quite possible that the museum owners are in a legal dispute with Activision. That wouldn’t be the only dispute due to architectural similarities either: In the game, the fictional Breenbergh Hotel is very much “inspired” by the existing Hotel Conservatorium, which does not please the operators of the luxury resort:

A similar problem was also suspected with the map Crown Raceway, which was initially supposed to come into play as a Grand Prix, but then didn’t show up in the beta as promised. Activision Blizzard also deleted all mention of the original name and then eventually released the map as Crown Raceway. At Valderas, renaming may not have been enough.
