After Netflix, it is now the turn of Disney+ to reveal its entire program for the month of February 2024. It includes Star Wars and a highly anticipated historical series.
The different platforms are starting to unveil their catalog for February 2024. After Netflix’s huge program, it is now the turn of Disney+ to present its selection. Even if demand is lower, that doesn’t mean that supply is less attractive. We discover important content, including the revival of the remarkable series Star Wars: Bad Batch, as well as pleasant surprises such as Shōgun. The latter promises to be the revelation of the month and offers an epic experience. Based on James Clavell’s bestselling novel of the same name, it is ideal for fans of Japanese history, although a significant portion of the plot remains fictional.
The new Disney+ releases for February 2024
Although the list of films on Disney+ is relatively small, it includes notable new releases like Coup de théâtre, scheduled for February 16th. This film is often compared to “Knives Out” as it offers a mysterious atmosphere full of secrets and a colorful artistic approach.
On the series side, Disney+ offers more choice, especially with the expected return of the third season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Remember that this animated series follows the adventures of the Bad Batch, a group of clones with extraordinary abilities who are genetically different from other clone troopers.
Shogun is also one of the notable new additions to Disney+. Based on the famous novel by James Clavell, this FX production takes place in Japan in the year 1600, during a momentous civil war. The story focuses on Lord Yoshii Toranaga, who fights for his survival against the unification of his enemies in the Regent’s Council.

Coup de Theater (February 16)
Coup de théâtre, a crime comedy released in 2022 and set in London in 1953. The plot focuses on a hit play, Agatha Christie’s “The Mousetrap,” which is celebrating its 100th performance. During this event, American director Leo Köpernick is murdered backstage and his body is displayed on stage. The investigation is entrusted to Inspector Georges Stoppard, a tired and alcoholic police officer, and Agent Stalker, an eager young recruit.
Star Wars Bad Batch Season 3 (February 21)
In Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, the group known as the Batch is tested in their fight to reunite with Omega, who faces challenges in a remote Imperial science laboratory. This season, the group faces threats from all sides, forcing them to seek out unexpected allies and undertake dangerous missions. Their goal is to free themselves from the Empire using everything they have learned.
Shogun (February 27)
Shogun, based on the novel by James Clavell, is an FX series. It takes place in Japan in the year 1600, during a major civil war. The main character, Lord Yoshii Toranaga, fights for his survival in the Regency Council against his enemies. The series stars Hiroyuki Sanada as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, Cosmo Jarvis as John Blackthorne and Anna Sawai as Toda Mariko. Among them are renowned Japanese actors such as Tadanobu Asano and Takehiro Hira. The series is created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, with the latter also serving as showrunner and executive producer. There will be 10 episodes
