The extremely brief and contentless Nintendo Switch 2 reveal trailer is finally here, and since it looks like we won't learn much more about the console (at least officially) until April 2, it's time to indulge in what you can Every little detail was extracted from the preview, which includes a first look at New Mario Kart.
The few seconds shown in the game, which looks just like what you'd expect New Mario Kart to look like (sorry, no resolutions or performance discussions yet), show off the colorful gang on a road surrounded by a vast desert environment travel. Plus: Yoshi has entered the booming burger industry. Granted, there's nothing to chew on. However, one key detail caught our and eagle-eyed fans' attention.

Mario Kart content creator Mankalor was the first to point out that (to our knowledge) New Mario Kart might include 24-player races in some way, shape, or form, as part of the trailer (You can see it in the featured image of this article) shows the starting grid of the circuit. Shockingly, it has twice as much space as a regular racer, so we should be prepared for double the chaos in at least one game mode.
It's also possible that these 12 extra starting locations are just part of the level art, but that would be an odd thing, especially considering how other competitive first-party Nintendo games have increased player counts in recent installments. Even if the core Mario Kart experience remains tighter and less chaotic, we can't lie: 24-player Rainbow Road races are going to be a blast, especially when played online.
While we await an official update on the Switch 2 launch lineup, we've got some, uh, unconventional game ideas that should be available on the Switch 2 at launch. We guarantee you'll be surprised by many of them and agree with us.
