Since the premiere of The Simpsons movie In 2007, there have been many times when there has been talk of a possible sequel. Faced with the enormous success that he registered at the box office and the long life that the television series maintains, everything indicates that the most famous family of animation will return to the big screen. In fact, as the portal picks up movieweb, the producer Al jean has wanted to explain what is the current situation of the second Simpsons movie.
To the question about a new movie, Jean answers «I would say that it will happen, although we are only in the early stages. We would love to make one for Disney, but it's not like it happens next week or next year. In D23, Matt Groening said, "I think it will happen.", and I agree with that. So I agree with that statement. I think it will happen«. In this way, although everything points to a premiere in cinemas, the door is left open to a premiere on the streaming platform Disney +, which lands in Spain on March 24.
When thinking about the development of this still unofficial film, Jean mentions that «it's not easier. Of that I'm sure. We will only do it if there is an idea that we think deserves to become another movie. We certainly do not need more Simpsons just for the money or to have additional material. We would do it if we thought it was a great story and we wanted to tell it«.
However, when Jean was asked if the second Simpsons movie would be an independent film instead of a sequelAl Jean responded with a simple "right," so picking up the story of a Springfield in serious danger or hatred of the Simpson family, with Spider-Pig included, will not be part of the new story. It should be remembered that the purchase of Fox by Disney led to statements from the increasingly large company in which the interest in more Simpsons projects, whether through movies or spin-offs. However, to date, future projects starring the best-known yellow family of television are unknown.
