In the light of its twenty sources, everyone in the Mercury Steam Studio seems to be smiling. While their latest production is among the potential Game of the Year at the Game Awards, the developers are announcing the rest of the menu.

While Metroid Dread continues to make headlines, especially in the small speedrun world, Mercury Steam announces that its next game, Project Iron, will be developed and published in partnership with 505 Games, as just announced. an official press release

. The publisher who last dealt with Control, the PC version of Death Stranding or Ghostrunner has just set its sights on a brand new game.

A reinforced concrete project?

The Spaniards continue to multiply their partners: after self-publishing two of their productions, they developed three parts of the Catslevania series Lords of Shadows and two episodes of Metroid under the direction of Nintendo, on behalf of Konami, The experts at Mercury Steam have decided to team up with the Italian publisher 505 Games to offer Project Iron, which will be presented as a “third-person action RPG in a dark fantasy universe”.

If you have to be content with this short pitch for the time being to imagine the future, the future editor of Project Iron states that he will invest 27 million dollars in the development.

The CEO of Digital Bros., the parent company of 505 Games, apparently welcomed this announcement:

We are excited to partner with the team at MercurySteam, an established studio that has sprung up over the years
many phenomenal licenses including the release of Metroid Dread in association with Nintendo. With MercurySteam’s creative vision and 505 Games expertise, gamers can expect an exciting game
and high end.

We’ll have to be patient to find out what Project Iron can offer us, even if the publisher is already talking about a multi-platform release. The bets are open and the comments are entirely at your disposal to place your marbles.
