Gaming News The next Lord of the Rings video game is coming soon, Gollum can’t back down!
After many postponements, this Lord of the Rings game is finally seeing the end of the tunnel. Soon you can go in search of the precious.
Say hello to Gollum!
It all started in March 2019. At that time Daedalic announced The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. As the name suggests, this is a video game that takes us into the world invented by JRR Tolkien, more precisely in the shoes of a certain Gollum.
And the least we can say is that the game has had a journey too. Like many games announced in recent years, it’s been pushed back time and time again. Originally scheduled for September 1, 2022, it has been postponed to the first half of fiscal year 2023-2024, i.e. between April and September 2023. Against all odds, it will be released on May 25th and this time there will be no postponement!
No more reports for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum
Good news : The game just went gold! as a reminder “passer gold” is a well-known expression in the industry. It means the game is complete and stable enough for physical copies of the game to go into production. Of course, this does not prevent the teams from making subsequent corrections. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is done with that, giving us a date on the announced date (May 25, 2023) on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
We were able to try the game on our site a few weeks ago. For 45 minutes, Daedalic invited us to partially discover chapters 3 and 7 of the game and unfortunately what we saw did not completely reassure us. If we feel a certain love for Middle-earth, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum sins through its engineering and gameplay. We hope the latest game can provide a better experience. In the meantime, here’s our latest preview.
