After a second season that kicked off numerous storylines, the next in this already iconic Prime Video series promises to be crazy, according to the showrunners.
You will have understood, we are of course talking about “Invincible”, the shocking animated series from Prime Video. The last episode of the second season was recently released with a terrible cliffhanger. Robert Kirkman, co-showrunner and creator of the original comic, wanted to reassure and even excite viewers about the sequel.
Prime Video’s Invincible animated series
Like The Boys license, also from Prime Video, Invincible doesn’t shy away from dealing with superheroes. The animated series is aimed primarily at an adult audience, as the violence is pervasive. You only had to see the first episode of the first season to be convinced. Other mature topics such as lineage and responsibilities are also covered. These themes become even more important in Season 2, which simultaneously opens up many narrative arcs.
For some, it may have even spread out too much. Robert Kirkman, the creative mind behind the comics and co-showrunner of the Prime Video-produced series, had a good reason for this in the bonus segment of the latest episode. “ I think there are so many parts being prepared in the second season that we will expand on them in the next one. There are also many opportunities to further develop the series and push it even further.
A season 3 already masterful?
Robert Kirkman hasn’t hidden his immense excitement for the next season of Invincible on Prime Video. “ We want every episode to feel like a season finale. The third one is going to be absolutely huge and contain so many crazy things that you won’t expect. And where we’re going to leave things behind… Oh my god, I can’t wait for people to see this! ».
Season 3 of Invincible is already in production. It could be that the waiting time for the latter is not as long as between the first and the second. In any case, we’ll see whether viewers share Roberk Kirkman’s infectious enthusiasm for the continuation of Mark Grayson’s (mis)adventures on Prime Video.
