original war zone After all, it won’t be sunset. Activision has confirmed that with Warzone 2.0 coming soon, existing games will not be replaced. However, it will be offline for a while to make room for Warzone 2.0.
For starters, old games will be renamed to war zone crater, to differentiate it from Warzone 2.0. This means that the Caldera map will remain, but all other smaller arenas such as Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep will not return.
Warzone Caldera will remain free-to-play, but when it returns, it will be effectively isolated from its own experience. Servers will go offline two hours before the release of Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 1.That is 8 AM PT, 11 AM ET, 4 PM UK November 16th.
Warzone Caldera will be inaccessible until 10am PT, 1pm ET, 6pm UK On November 28th, it will be relaunched for those who want to keep playing.
Existing content, unlocks, store purchases, XP and everything else will remain and will continue to be associated with Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. Basically, when it reboots, everything you can do today will be possible, but you won’t be bringing anything into Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare 2.
You also can’t transfer Double XP Tokens between the two Warzones, and you won’t progress in Modern Warfare 2 and the Warzone 2.0 Battle Pass by playing Crater.
Activision says fans of the smaller Warzone map can expect a similar experience in Warzone 2.0, but Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep won’t be playable in the relaunched Warzone Caldera.
