God of War, the next former PlayStation exclusive, recently made its way to PC. A look at the Steam statistics shows how successful this project was. Because the roller coaster ride of Kratos and his son Atreus can currently convince almost all players and replaces Horizon: Zero Dawn as the most successful port for the home computer to date.

So far it’s only been two days since the PC launch, which is why we still have to wait and see how long the god of war can ride the wave of success. However, over 65,000 concurrent active players in the past 24 hours (via SteamDB
This beats the previous leader Horizon: Zero Dawn within Sony Studios. Aloy’s adventures have peaked at just over 56,000 users since release played at the same time and could thus also be seen as a success for Sony’s ambitious expansion plans. Because what used to seem unthinkable is now becoming more and more a reality: experience the popular PlayStation hits on the PC.

What is also noticeable when looking at the SteamDB data is the – so far – constant development of the number of players. At least at the moment, this does not suggest that interest in the title will wane in the near future.
The user reviews are also clear
Unsurprisingly, God of War is also number 1 on this week’s Steam sales charts. And what do the numerous buyers say? Mostly only positive, because currently falling 97 percent of all User-Reviews positive out.
What is praised most often? Unsurprisingly, the graphics, the atmosphere and the exciting plot. Many users also signal that they would buy other ports of popular Sony titles such as Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne or Spider-Man without hesitation.
And what is criticized? What is much more exciting about these numbers is what negative things are mentioned. The annoying mouse acceleration is particularly noticeable here. In addition, owners of AMD graphics cards in particular still seem to have problems with performance and crashes. Mostly it is about technical aspects. However, these are likely to be isolated cases, as our hardware editors attest the PC technology of God of War
