The Planet Crafter has been available in Early Access on Steam since March 2022. Now the release date for the final game version has finally been set.
The French indie development studio Miju Games has been working on The Planet Crafter for some time. The 3D crafting game with an open game world has been available as an early access game on Steam since March 2022 and is causing quite a stir there. There are over 750,000 wishlist entries and more than 25,000 positive reviews that bring the space adventure into focus.
Now there is light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the final release date. The title, which combines crafting with survival and exploration elements in space as well as from the first-person perspective, will be available as a full version for the PC from April 10, 2024. With the launch update, the game will also receive a new multiplayer mode for up to 8 players, as well as several new biomes and a variety of new animal species.
The Planet rafter places you in an interstellar universe in which you are faced with the task of terraforming a hostile planet in order to make it habitable for humanity. To create a new biosphere, you must produce oxygen, generate heat, collect resources and build your base. It is important to use your ingenuity to manipulate the elements while surviving the hostile conditions of your environment.
The game system is described as quite complex, whereby your actions will have a direct influence on the changes in the world. You can develop technical equipment and monitor the results of your interventions via a terraforming index. With every progress you make, you discover more of the planet’s secrets and bring life to the once barren land.
In terms of content, there are over 30 biomes to explore, a story with several narrative strands, different levels of difficulty and the aforementioned new multiplayer co-op mode in which you can work together towards the goal.
Already in the early access phase, the community was involved on a larger scale in the development of the finished version 1.0, whose feedback was directly incorporated into new game versions. Among other things, the new animal species are a direct result of the wishes expressed by players.
The Planet Crafter will be available in the full version from April 10, 2024 for 23.99 dollars. In the first week after release there is a 30 percent discount on the regular purchase price.
