After a two-delay delay, The Witcher 3’s next-gen free update has a release window. This version is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series in a few months.
This time it’s right for the new-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. CD Projekt Red looks confident enough and has therefore shared a new release window.
The Witcher 3 on PS5 and Xbox Series by the end of the year
The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of TW3: Wild Hunt was originally scheduled to release with a free update in 2021, then in Q2 2022. The Witcher 3 will finally be available in Q4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. A small announcement that fell on the seventh anniversary of the game.
No exact release date yet, but the fourth quarter runs from October to December. This patch to beautify this iconic title has also not been detailed. The only information we have today is that the development has been done internally for some time. Saber Interactive (World War Z) originally started work, but the studio may have encountered problems. “We have decided to entrust the remaining work on the next-gen version to our internal development team”

What future for the franchise?
With the release of the PS5 and Xbox Series versions of The Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red can now turn its attention to the next episode. It will continue to be an open world that will be “amazing” thanks to the Unreal Engine 5. The future of the franchise of Andrzej Sapkowski, author of the Witcher books, will also see through the Netflix series with the airing of Season 3.
