Dead Space Remake: The new graphics look so strong in the first few minutes
That’s what the international reviews say about Dead Space Remake
Dylan Chaundy from Twinfinite pulls out the highest rating for the Dead Space Remake and writes in the test:
Overall, Motive Studios’ Dead Space Remake is an unqualified success, expanding the story of its predecessor in small but important steps. It looks and sounds phenomenal, and the Necromorphs at the heart of the horror action remain one of the scariest game enemies of all time.
GameRant gives the horror game four and a half out of five stars in the test, which counts as a 90 for Metacritic. This puts the English-language website exactly on par with our GameStar rating. Tester Dalton Cooper describes it like this:
Dead Space Remake improves on all categories from the 2008 original, with quality-of-life improvements, new story content, side quests, and dramatically revamped graphics. It’s Dead Space, but better.
Dead Space Remake – Screenshots show the new graphics
The most critical rating on Metacritic so far comes from Metro GameCentral, where Dead Space Remake only gets a seven out of ten. This makes it the only »mixed« among all the positive ratings. Among other things, the test criticizes that the story of Dead Space was not groundbreaking in the original, that the brown color palette offers little visual variety and that it is not really scary despite jump scares. In the conclusion it says:
An excellent remake of a not-so-quite-classic of the horror genre, which nevertheless makes a compelling case for continuing the series (…). The original has always had pacing issues, was repetitive, and generally unimaginative. The remake graphics could have been better and the weightless episodes disappoint.
Where are the user reviews? Players won’t be able to submit their ratings to Metacritic until January 28th.
