There are very few days left until one of the most ambitious series of the year returns to Amazon Prime Video: The Rings of PowerThe new episodes of the Middle-earth-inspired work will try to woo fans who were reluctant to watch the first season of the series, with sequences and sets ten times larger than those seen so far.
In an interview with the American media ComicBookthe showrunners of the series have compared the second season of The Rings of Power
“Part of the fun of season two is that you’re in the room where the decisions are being made and the rings are being built. But you’re also in the room with the people who are putting them on for the first time, and you don’t know exactly what’s going to happen. We’ve kind of compared it to Oppenheimer: You’re dealing with this world-changing power, and no one knows exactly whether it’s going to be for better or worse. Maybe a little bit of both.”
As he tells Patrick McKayMuch of the season focuses on how the rings change the elves’ perception of themselves and how this affects their world, as they discover new powers and abilities in the process. But they won’t be the only race to experience these changes, as dwarves also have their own role in the plot.
Basically, during the new episodes we will see the consequences that the creation of the rings will leave among the most important races and places of Middle Earth, thus preparing the ground for confrontations and events that will have repercussions throughout the world. The second season of The Rings of Power will arrive exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on August 29, 2024.
