The Galaxy Unpacked event was of course also a lot about artificial intelligence.
The Galaxy Unpacked Event 2025 is behind us. At the keynote, numerous high-ranking Samsung executives presented the innovations for the current year, which extend to both hardware and software.
If you missed the 90-minute-long Galaxy Unpacked, don't worry – you'll find all the important information in quick succession below.
Galaxy S25: No surprises with the new flagship – but one in the portfolio
As expected, Samsung has presented the new upper class of its own smartphone portfolio. With the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra you have the usual choice between three different cell phones.
In direct comparison to the previous generation in the form of the Galaxy S24, the manufacturer only leaves a slight evolution.
At least the prayers of many European Samsung fans have been answered. Instead of the unpleasant Exynos SoC, the Galaxy S25 in this country is switching back to a Qualcomm chip with the Snapdragon 8 Elite “For Galaxy”. You can find all further details here:
There was still a little teaser to marvel at. Samsung announced a fourth smartphone in its portfolio, which will be called the “Galaxy S25 Edge”. However, the manufacturer did not reveal many details.

Galaxy AI: New functions are initially exclusive to the S25
Of course, the Unpacked event was also all about artificial intelligence. Several new features are on the way as part of One UI 7 – but only for the Galaxy S25 series.
After all, the previous generations will also be equipped with the AI features shown at a later date. However, it is unclear which cell phones Samsung will extend this promise to and whether all the innovations will be included. Samsung demonstrated the following features in detail:
- »AI Select«: In the side panel of the user interface, the Galaxy AI will present you with suitable (inter)actions that will be created by analyzing your screen content.
- Verbessertes »Circle to Search«: The circle gesture, which you can use to search for the content on your screen on your phone, will be integrated even more deeply. Among other things, you can now also search for music.
- »Now Bar«: The Galaxy S25's lock screen gets interactive capsules that allow you to access common apps and system functions without unlocking your phone. These include calendar reminders or your music player.
- »Now Brief«: Galaxy AI should also become more personal. If you wish, you will receive an overview of appointments and suitable routines in the morning. These should be able to be adapted to circumstances in real time. In the evening there is a summary of the day so far and a preview of the next day.
Android XR: A very short teaser
Last December, Google and Samsung announced that the two companies were working together on the “Android XR” platform.
The new platform, which stands for “eXtended Reality,” also made a brief appearance at the Unpacked event. However, Samsung couldn't get more than a “More information coming soon” response.
Now your opinion is asked: Was there a performance at the Unpacked event that you found particularly interesting or was Samsung unable to convince you for this year? Let us know in the comments!
