If the atmosphere is more conducive to partying and bursts of generosity for some, the inevitable Yoko Taro is now setting his terms to (or not) continue the NieR series.
Who would have believed that? More than ten years after the first episode was released as a spin-off from Drakengard, the NieR series can finally boast of having found its audience, while the original work was nicknamed NieR a few months ago. appeared replicant ver.1.22474487139 … But since not all licenses should necessarily be exhausted down to the last drop, director Yoko Taro announces the end of the adventure in his own way. Unless…
The three henchmen
The quirky creative actually appeared alongside producer Yosuke Saito and composer Keiichi Okabe to announce that he’d covered the subject:
Saito : What are you going to do again with the series Nier, Yoko-san, Okabe-san?
Yoko : What do I want to do about NieR anyway? Nothing at all !
Saito : Nothing at all ? It suits you to stop there? You don’t steal anything with YoHRa anymore?
Yoko : Exactly. Today we announce that the NieR series is over!
The never-ending of war
After a few episodes and the recent release of NieR Recarnation, the death bell would have rung for the philosophical and protean work of Yoko Taro … which cannot help but leave the door open to potential investors:
Yoko : But, you know … I could play other games if I had a lot of money.
Saito : A large sum of money. I take care of it! After all, Okabe-san, I’m not going to lift a finger in a big pile of cash.
Yoko : It’s true. I would do anything for reasonable money, but Keiichi Okabe needs a lot more.
Given the great relaxation that reigns in this video, it’s up to you to take the quirky Yoko Taro at your word, who manages to manifest a certain form of artistic integrity in just a few sentences … and greed for profit for sure.
