Zhenwei Entertainmentthe studio behind the Interactive Streaming Series Silent Hill: Ascensionhas been announced and is still under development Borderlands project.
Borderlands EchoVision Live, announced at San Diego Comic-Con, is the next project from Genvid, another interactive streaming series that will focus on “the (mis)adventures of eight unsuspecting visitors who find themselves in danger and trapped in Eden-6 after setting out to follow in the footsteps of Vault Hunters and enjoy their glory.” A three week vacation turned into a perpetual nightmare.
“Surrounded on all sides by murderers, robbers and low-density sheets, these hapless amateurs must overcome fear, failure and greed in order to band together, adapt to circumstances and dodge the many, many bullets with their names on them.”
The project doesn’t yet have a release date, but considering we don’t even know when Silent Hill: Ascension will be released (although it’s due in 2023), that’s not a surprise.
Similar to Silent Hill: Ascension, “audiences will be involved in deciding how these zero heroes stand up to the growing threat at Greywater Nexus. Reputations, relationships, and even rewards are at stake – the actions of millions of people will determine the fate of these characters.” It’s a bit bold to assume that millions of players will definitely participate, but I appreciate the confidence.
Back in May, we received a more in-depth trailer for Silent Hill: Ascension, but it doesn’t look… great. The original Silent Hill games were all about slow, moody, atmospheric moments, and the occasional heart-pounding enemy chasing you didn’t feel like a real-time thing. Only time will tell!
