Game adaptations of old horror classics seem to be all the rage. After Friday the 13th it’s time for another classic, namely The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Gun Interactive and Sumo Digital have announced The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. The game adaptation of the horror classic from 1974 is scheduled for release next year for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but also for the last generation of consoles. The game will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass upon release.
The game, once again penned by the creators of Friday the 13th, takes the usual formula of asymmetric horror games but steers away from the typical 5vs1 gameplay we know from Dead by Daylight or Evil Dead: The Game. Instead, four players try to survive against three blurry stalkers.
In terms of content, it makes sense, Leatherface is not a supernatural being and is much easier to kill than other horror characters. In a first trailer, you can see for yourself that the game is no less brutal than the film.
