The Evil Within is a popular series created by the founder of the Resident Evil saga, Shinji Mikami, which may be returning in the coming months. This is indeed indicated by a clue hidden in the surprise game of the last Xbox event: Hi-Fi Rush. If this detail is correct, the famous survival horror could indeed welcome a third episode!
Presented at the last Xbox event, Hi-Fi Rush is the work of Tango Gameworks, the studio founded by Shinji Mikami. Since its surprise arrival, the game has been discovered and completed by many players, and some have searched the environment from top to bottom to uncover mysteries. An Easter egg was recently found and could herald a third installment of The Evil Within series. The information was provided by the GamesRadar + site, and one of the journalists took the opportunity to verify the presence of this Easter egg. During a cutscene where the characters take an elevator, a screen will appear when they reach their destination. You can read the number 776 very quickly (it’s stealthy, you must have a keen eye). At the bottom, in very small letters, it says: ” The sequel to the popular survival horror franchise is announced.
Reality or Fata Morgana? Is The Evil Within returning soon?
An Easter egg has never been a confirmation, but it’s the best “evidence” for a possible return of The Evil Within for now. This survival horror is particularly appreciated and it’s obvious that Tango Gameworks doesn’t leave its fingers idle. Certainly, part of the team is working on the title Ghostwire: Tokyo (as well as the mobile game Hero Dice), but it’s obvious that the Easter egg presented here refers to a different license. Let’s not forget that Ghostwire: Tokyo started out as… The Evil Within 3. It could just be a simple nod to this stage of development. We will see in a few weeks or months whether those affected were right.
