What we know so far about the Witcher 3 Next Gen update
Release: On December 14, 2022, The Witcher 3 Next Gen update will be released for PC, Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
This is in it: The upgrade focuses primarily on technical improvements, such as ray tracing or shorter loading times. Additionally, select mods will be natively integrated into the game, eliminating the need to install them separately.
New gameplay content is also planned: This is how it comes to a crossover with the Netflix series The Witcher (still with Henry Cavill). Exactly what that means is still unclear. But we wouldn’t be surprised to see weapons, armor and maybe even small quests directly related to TV production. Just like with Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners was the case.
Why is this also exciting for PC gamers? The next gen update of The Witcher 3 will not only be played for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. PC players should also benefit from the technical improvements and new content. Not only that: at a later date even the Last Gen versions will get the upgrade.
By the way: In addition to completely new Witcher role-playing games, a remake of the very first part is also planned. You can read what we hope for the reboot of Geralt’s first adventures in the world of video games at the following link:
