The Witcher 4 surprised everyone with a very notable appearance at the Game Awards ceremony and is already looking extremely promising!
While CD Projekt RED told us last month that The Witcher 4 had finally entered production recently, we weren't necessarily expecting news of their new game to be released so quickly. The Polish studio has thus achieved a major blow by offering us, as part of the Game Awards 2024, a first real official preview of its new saga in the dark fantasy universe of the novelist Andrzej Sapkowski. And that sells a lot of dreams!
A first real look at The Witcher 4, which is already getting raves
When it was first officially announced, The Witcher 4 simply presented us with an image of a Witcher Medallion buried in the snow with the subtitle “A New Saga Begins.” Since then, he has been breaking news primarily through CD Projekt RED's financial reports. In the latest version we were told that this new work had entered the most important phase of its development: full production, which means that it should not be released for another two or three years. To avoid a repeat of the terrible communication mistakes surrounding Cyberpunk 2077, the Polish studio was careful not to show anything unless there was something concrete to show.
It is therefore a very pleasant surprise that The Witcher 4 will be presented in more detail at the Game Awards. A cinematic trailer allows us to better understand what this new saga consists of, but with a big surprise: Ciri will replace the legendary Geralt of Rivia as the main protagonist of this new saga!
Even if it's just a cutscene, remember that The Witcher 4 was developed on Unreal Engine 5. The final rendering could therefore be very close to what pleases our eyes in the video below. Now the release date still needs to be announced. But quickly!
