“The Witcher” returns in season 4 not only with a new Geralt. Fan favorite Regis will also celebrate his debut and the Netflix series was able to get a Hollywood star for this.
Many “The Witcher” fans may have written off the series after Henry Cavill’s exit in season 3, but Netflix is still pushing forward with season 4. A first image of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt is still a long time coming, but filming is scheduled to begin in early 2024 and new information about the fantasy sequel can be expected at the same time.
However, Netflix has already published the first big news about the new season: Laurence Fishburne (“Matrix”, “John Wick – Chapter 4”) has been signed for an important “The Witcher” role.
Fan favorite for the first time in the Netflix series
Fishburne will play Regis, a vampire who is one of Geralt’s friends in The Witcher games and books. Even if Fishburne hardly resembles Regis visually, his acting skills will certainly make him an asset to the series.
Due to the late start of filming, which is due to the writers’ and actors’ strike in 2023, “The Witcher” season 4 will probably only end up in Netflix’s new release program in 2025.
