After restarting development earlier this year, CD Projekt Red’s wizard spin off, project siriusseems to be back on track.
Now that the upcoming game has a “new framework” in place, development has started again, the company said in a financial call to investors (Eurogamer).
Back in March, CDPR said in a regulatory announcement that Project Sirius was being restructured after evaluating the scope and commercial potential of the original concept.
Sirius is the code name for the game currently being developed by The Flame in the Flame in the Flame studio Molasses Flood, which was acquired by CDP in 2021. Set in the wizarding world and created with support from CDPR, the game will offer multiplayer and single player, including a campaign with quests and a story.
Last year, the company announced Project Sirius and other upcoming The Witcher titles, calling them “an innovative take on the universe.” Other games in the works are Project Polaris, a story-driven open-world role-playing game based on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the start of a new The Witcher trilogy.
The other, Project Canis Majoris, is a story-driven single-player open-world role-playing game set in the world of The Witcher, developed by a third-party studio led by former Witcher veterans.
