Some time ago it was surprisingly known that Platinum Games is planning a new edition of the Wii-U classic The Wonderful 101. After switch and PS4 sockets had already been saved, it is now clear that there will be a PC version. All three new versions have now been given a specific release date.
After the exact release date was still unknown, it is now certain that PC, PS4 and switch players can access The Wonderful 101 in North America from May 19, 2020 and make up for it. In Europe, players have to wait three days longer until May 22, 2020 for the remastered version to be available in stores in Germany.
According to the makers, the date mentioned is the "general release date", so that supporters of the Kickstarter campaign should still be able to get started in April.
As announced, producer Atsushi Inaba emphasized that he felt a clear imbalance between the quality of the game and the number of players who would actually have played it on the Wii U. Thanks to a financial injection from Tencent Holdings, new paths could be explored at Platinum Games and the remaster with the support of a crowdfunding campaign at Kickstarter has now actually been tackled. With the new versions for PC, PS4 and Switch, significantly more gamers should be able to catch up on the title.
