PlayStation Studios is busy making games.
According to Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, Sony’s development studio has more than 25 games under development, of which nearly half are new IPs.
The other half is a franchise that PlayStation fans already know about.
“The new IP is very important to us,” Hulst said. “The new IP is the lifeblood of the game. However, the new IP is only one aspect of our strategy. In the end, I hope PlayStation Studios is very bold and daring to take risks. I hope we continue to embrace the PlayStation tradition, break through the boundaries of games, and continue to make important games The game may not be made anywhere else.
“And you know, Bend Studio is developing a very exciting new IP, and they are very, very enthusiastic about it. They are based on the deep open world system they developed with Days Gone. So I am very happy for Bend Studio. “
In an interview with the PS blog, Hulst also talked about bringing PlayStation games to the PC.
In terms of bringing more games to the PC, Hulst stated that the team is “still in the early stages of our PC planning.”
“Horizon Zero Dawn was very successful,” Hulst said. “I think this shows that gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem are eager to experience the amazing combination of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years.
“But I want to emphasize that PlayStation will still be the best place for us to play games when PlayStation Studios is released. But we do value PC gamers, and we will continue to look for the right time to release each game. Bend Studio was just in 5 The PC version of “Days Gone” was released on the 18th. So this is about two years after PS4 was released.”
Hulst said that the ultimate goal is to attract new gamers, and publishing games on PC will not come at the cost of “building an exciting lineup of excellent console games.”
